Critical Thinking Puzzles

These puzzles are kind of pricy, but they keep my students engaged for hours. Well, maybe not hours, but you know what I mean. :)

Blog Design

I've been trying to find a FREE blog design that I like for a couple of years now. I think this is it. :) Let's see if I still like it in a couple of months.

SMART Board App for iPad Coming Soon

The June issue of EdCompass mentions a SMART app for the iPad will be released this summer. Then, students can open SMART Notebook files from your Dropbox app for review and navigate through the interactive games just like they do on the SMARTBoard.

If you sign into your SMART account (, you can subscribe to this magazine for free too. :)

Find Sums App

You can find sums to 10, 20, 100 ---  as well as others. Part-Whole is the best way to teach computation.

Three Ring App --- Digitizes and Organizes Student Work

Wow! This FREE three ring app digitizes and organizes your students' work.

You can record and store a student reading a book at the beginning of the year, middle of the year, and end of the year. It organizes and stores. You can also digitize and store writing samples, math tests, etc.

The possibilities are endless!

Create a Book with the Scribble Press App

Paula Bronn, an incredible teacher, shared the Scribble Press app with me on Facebook today. It's FREE and easy to use. You should check it out. :)

Do you have a favorite app? I've been downloading and playing all day. :)

Brooklyn, NY, ELA Common Core Handout

I had the BEST time working with the teachers at PS 161! They were so positive and happy, and school's not even out for the summer yet. :)

I had a few hours to explore New York City, and I can't wait to go back. It's one of my favorite places to visit. I could never afford the brownstone loft near Central Park that I'd like to live in for a summer...

SMART Boards Engage

Only one student is using the SMART Board at a time, but all students are engaged with the concentration game. I've attached the making 10s game if you'd like to download it to use with your students. :)
