### Understanding Division

I'm posting this for reference for students at Drury University. It may not make sense if you haven't seen it modeled.

### Appointment Calendar Management Idea

Being back in the classroom is interesting. Last week, I knew I needed to implement differentiated appointment calendars to form heterogeneous partners, homogeneous partners, and peer tutors, but I wasn't sure I was up for the challenge of managing behavior and having students keep up with their appointments. So, I used their M.A.P. and SRI data to form the groups, and I wrote their appointments on different pages in a SMART Notebook file.

Now, if I want peer tutors to work together in reading or homogeneous partners to work together in math, I simply include that slide in my lesson. Management problem solved. :)

If you'd like more information on how to set up appointment calendars, this link will help:  http://www.cherylsclassroomtips.com/2010/04/appointment-calendars-by-keeping.html.

### Multiplication Bonds

I plan to assess multiplication the old-fashioned way, but I plan to teach multiplication AND division with number bonds. ONE bond covers four things. It's brain-friendly.

### Anchor Chart Ideas

If you're using your classroom walls to teach, this site will give you ideas for anchor charts. Not all charts have to be written on chart paper -- you can print pages from your SMART Notebook lessons to leave a trail of learning in your room.
